APPRAISALS – PRIVATE CLIENTS

QUILT APPRAISAL DAYS/EVENINGS - SHOPS/ORGANIZATIONS

We appraise antique, newly made and art quilts. These appraisals are confidential so scheduling an appointment of 30 minutes (one for each quilt) is advised. We can do written appraisals or verbal evaluations. Transportation fees may be charged.

VERBAL CONSULTATION

• Given to clarify age, pattern name, use and care of the quilt. No dollar value may be given.
• Sometimes the verbal consultation will need to become a written appraisal when the quilt is examined closely and judged to be of significant value.

WRITTEN APPRAISAL

• Usually given for insurance, donation, or fair market values.
• History from owner is recorded.
• Photographs are taken for our records and that of the owner.
• Quilt is examined in detail for fabric, pattern, size, quality of construction and quilting, and condition.
• The written appraisal, care instructions, and photo are mailed to owner within two weeks after we have had time to do additional research as needed.

QUILT APPRAISAL DAYS/EVENINGS - FOR YOUR INCOME

Same as above except the charge to the customer is increased to create your income. Suggested Additional charges:

• Verbal consultation - add $2-3 per each quilt.
• Written appraisals - add $5 per each quilt.

SEWING ROOM APPRAISALS

Don't undervalue what you have.

As a professional or a hobbyist, you may have a large investment in your sewing equipment, fabric, thread, and books. Look around and take a minute to estimate how much it would cost to replace what is now a part of your quilting life... more than you think (or would like to admit).

An appraisal of your sewing room will accomplish several things:

• You will have to organize the contents of the room.
• You will receive a professional appraisal that is a legal document for insurance purposes.
• You will have a greater appreciation of your "stash" etc..
